Summary

Sporadic fieldwalking and metal-detecting between 1986 and 2010 recovered prehistoric worked flint including a Mesolithic core and quantity of Mesolithic flint implements; Iron Age, Roman and medieval pottery sherds including three Roman pottery sherds of Much Hadham red colour coated ware; Roman quern stone fragments and Roman metal objects. The metal finds include a Roman finger ring and bracelet fragment.

17 Roman coins (268-402 AD), pottery sherds (including 2 Oxfordshire colour coated, 1 mortarium; 2nd century Samian, 1st century micaceous ware and late Roman shell-gritted ware), stone and lava quern fragments and 1 copper alloy cable-twisted bracelet fragment (1st -2nd century AD).
2 medieval pottery sherds.
