July 1986. 2 plots north of church. Found when digging footings.
Grimston jug handle, 13th to 14th century with central applied strip, green glazed stab marks. (Identified by C. Dallas (NAU), July 1986).
Found in same area: large sagging base sherd of glazed Grimston, found in very deep and circular area of dark soil cutting natural.
6.1m to north of this in the same plot, a dark soil feature produced much glazed red earthenware, 1 stoneware, 2 late medieval/early post medieval, 1 glazed Grimston.
Identified by A. Rogerson (NAU), 4 August 1986.
