Summary

This colourwashed brick house was built around 1700. With the 18th century extension the building is in the shape of an L. It has two storeys and an attic. There is an almost symmetrical façade of seven bays. Inside are some original wooden beams and roof.

Erneford House. Marked as Handford House on (S1). About 1700. Colourwashed brick and pantile. Lobby entrance. Later addition forms L shape. Two storeys and attic. Almost symmetrical seven bay facade of which two bays obscured by addition. Mainly original two light mullion and transom windows on ground floor. Platband and dentilled cornice. Off centre axial stack. Moulded brick cross gable finials. 18th century added block. Interior has winding stair on entrance side of stack; principal beams with stepped chamferstops; fine roof of collars' staggered butt purlins and windbracing. Information from (S2).
