Map

Pair of timber framed cottages. Dated 1839, this appears to be reconstruction of an early 17th century pair. Central stack with double staircase. Braced timber frame. Diamond mullioned windows not connected to frame. Upper floor original despite midwall rail being nailed to front of studs - suggested as being due to stack being built first and walls erected around it.
Later 19th century extensions demolished 1983 and interiors gutted.
See (S1).
E. Rose (NLA), 3 December 1986.

1983. Norwich Survey.
Pair of two storied timber framed cottages of 17th century. Rebuild of 1839.
T. E. Miller (NLA), 14 December 2005.

Now listed (1994) the listing disagrees with Carter's date, assigning an early 18th century date instead to the timber frame (not the brick skin).
