Summary

Various 18th century maps show that a windmill stood on the former common. The small scale of these maps mean that the exact location of this mill can only be estimated. It is possible that this mill is the one that stood near Bloodgate Hill Fort in 1781.

Location

Civil Parish SOUTH CREAKE, WEST NORFOLK, NORFOLK

Map

On former common. Windmill, marked on Bowen's map 1749, Corbridge 1765, Bowles 1775, but not Faden 1779. All these maps are so small that grid reference must be very vague, but NOT same as mill(s) in South Creake village.
(S1) states a mill stands near Bloodgate Hill Fort in 1781 - may be this mill?
