Full Description
1951. Stray Find.
Found north-north-west of Fox Covert.
1 Bronze Age copper alloy knife-dagger, with 2 rivets, tang, no midrib, length 7 1/4" [18.4cm], hilt line surviving. See sketches (S1) and (S2).
This discovery was reported newpaper article (S3), which gives the location as "near Massingham Heath". It is also noted in (S4), where the provenance is listed simply as "Gayton".

1982.
Sheffield Museum confirms a dagger in their collection "Found between Massingham and Gagton (sic)" is the same as above. It was deposited on loan by the finder.
