Full Description
8 May 1987. Found on surface of ploughed field.
Scatter over area 20m across, of early medieval unglazed sherds and a few bone fragements. Weathered fragments of lava millstone all found close together at south end of scatter. Soil in the 20m across area is darker than surrounding and contains small patches of even darker possibly burnt soil.
Information from member of the public [1].
Paced survey by A. Gregory (NAU) 9 May 1987. Copy in file.
Note that this is one of three such early medieval sites, presumably house sites along the southern edge of the valley
floor.
A. Gregory (NAU), 9 March 1987.
