Full Description
24 March 1987. Field northeast of Pentney Mill. Fenland fieldwalking, weathered and rolled soil.
Odd flints mainly from edges of field, no obvious concentrations and few sherds of medieval pottery. PEN AI. NCM.
R. Silvester (NAU), 24 March 1987.
At southwest end of this field is part of a large rectangular cropmark suggested by D. Ewards (NAU) as a huge moated site; but to E. Rose (NAU) it seems to be part of the late drainage system visible in adjacent fields.
For full details of wares, flint types, etc. see Fenland Folders.
2001.
Scheduled as part of priory. (S1).
See file for NHER 3924.
D. Gurney (NLA), 23 January 2002.
