Summary

Fieldwalking in 1987 noted a few prehistoric flints and pieces of medieval pottery. At the southwest end of the field is part of a rectangular cropmark that may be part of the priory (NHER 3456).

24 March 1987. Field northeast of Pentney Mill. Fenland fieldwalking, weathered and rolled soil.
Odd flints mainly from edges of field, no obvious concentrations and few sherds of medieval pottery. PEN AI. NCM.

At southwest end of this field is part of a large rectangular cropmark suggested by D. Ewards (NAU) as a huge moated site; but to E. Rose (NAU) it seems to be part of the late drainage system visible in adjacent fields.
