Summary

In 1967 Roman pottery sherds dating to the 2nd and 4th century were found at the north end of Brick Kiln Plantation. Metal-detecting at this location between 2019 and 2021 recovered Roman coins and a number of other metal objects, including a Roman nail cleaner and slide key; an Early Saxon brooch fragment; a Middle/Late Saxon hooked tag; a Late Saxon stirrup-strap mount; a medieval buckle and a medieval/post-medieval lead weight.

1967. Found in area about 9.1m (10yds) in diameter at north end of Brick Kiln Plantation. Most found towards dip in middle - nothing said to grow on this spot except this trees. [1].
