Summary

Fenland fieldwalking in March 1987 found an abundant scatter of prehistoric pot boilers. The only other finds were pieces of post medieval tile drain. Metal-detecting between 2017 and 2019 recovered a Roman harness fitting and post-medieval rowel spurs.

24 March 1987. Fenland fieldwalking on weathered soil recently drilled.
Abundant pot boilers with a small spread adjacent to old infilled dyke. Otherwise only occasional bit of post medieval tile drain around gravelly sandy soil. Area 26m (east-west) x 14m (north-south) at 5.5m OD. Reference PEN 8 on (S1).
