Summary

Fieldwalking as part of the Fenland Survey recovered a scatter of prehistoric worked and burnt flint and pieces of prehistoric, Late Iron Age, Roman and medieval pot.

22 April 1987. Fenland fieldwalking.
Weathered soil, young cereal, rolled.
MTW EB.
General spread of flint, pot boiler and prehistoric pottery across eastern third of large field set across crest of ridge; crest runs east to west and there is a gentle slope from north and steeper one to south. Most of material came from crest and north slope. Flint spread at 7283 9533 and couple of Iron Age? sherds at 7274 9538. Because of
field conditions perhaps ought to be checked again.
Also Roman and medieval sherds.
