Summary

This medieval building was demolished in 1887, although the 17th century stables remain and have been converted into several houses. The site is moated and part of the medieval moat still survives. Fieldwalking and metal detecting here recovered a concentration of fragments of Roman pottery, medieval pottery, medieval tile, Roman, medieval and post medieval coins and a Middle or Late Saxon unfinished strap end.
