Full Description
25 March 1987. Old Ordnance Survey field L141. Field walking, medium conditions, not very weathered.
Possible Roman sherd.
Thetford type ware.
Medieval wares including Grimston and early medieval.
Worked flints.
Hone.

Context 17. Semi-weathered veg patch re-examined. 1 medieval sherd.
Context 18, contexts 1, 3, and 5. Dead maize.

This site is recorded as MED71 in (S2). A messuage is recorded on the site from the mid 14th century, and the settlement may have had its origins in the 11th century. The tenurial history of the settlement can be traced in documents dating from the mid 14th century, until the 18th century.
