Summary

This is the site of the Magdalen Fen Engine, the first steam engine to built to pump the Norfolk Fens in 1834. These Butterley Engines were removed in 1914 and replaced by Gwynnes, but in 1948 diesel engines took over. Today nothing remains of the engines or the buildings that house them.

This has been demolished, a mere heap of rubble remains, the haunt of weasels and other lowly creatures.
