Full Description
August 1987. Metal detecting.
Copper-alloy disc brooch with low-relief Borre-style ornament of interlace, each arm with central groove. Some faint traces of white metal surface tinning ?/silvering?. Decoration well-preserved but casting faults have led to piercing of background in places giving partial, accidental, openwork effect. Iron stains indicate iron pin, fixed to rectangular, eared lug at right angles to it. Catch plate missing.
Photograph (S1) taken.
