Summary

Fenland fieldwalking in 1988 recorded a scatter of prehistoric flints and pot boilers at this location. Some of these flints were subsequently dated to the Late Neolithic/Early Bronze Age.

17 March 1988. Fenland fieldwalking. Reasonable conditions,soil weathered but rutted.
Context 1: general scatter across mineral soil of flints. Site MTW FP.
Context 2 at 6394 9362: concentration of flints, sparse to moderate, and a few pot boilers on sandy edge of island. Site may spread eastwards - further flints could be part of much more diffuse spread. 43m north-south by 28m east-west at 1m OD. Site MTW 153.
Context 2 flints are Late Neolithic/Early Bronze Age - F. Healy (NAU).
