1980 or earlier on field surface. Old Ordnance Survey field 762. Curtis field 23.
Stone axe hammer found. Probably dredged from dyke between Ordnance Survey 761 and 762. Some wood remained in shaft hole. Reported as from Mildenhall and sent to Peter Murphy (UEA) by Edward Martin (SAU). Wood identified as oak? Axe hammer seen 1981 by Frances Healy (NAU) with no wood remaining. Grid reference approximate.
