Summary

This was the site of a settlement during the Roman period. The settlement site continues under NHER 24765 and NHER 24766. This is also the site of a Late Saxon settlement, which was occupied in the 11th and 12th centuries, before being abandoned. A medieval settlement developed on the site in the late 12th or early 13th century. Fieldwalking and metal-detecting between 1988 and 2018 recovered prehistoric flints, pottery dating from the Iron Age to the post medieval periods, Roman coins, and medieval and post medieval coins and metalwork.
