Summary

Fieldwalking in 1988 during the construction of Thetford bypass uncovered an Early Saxon cruciform brooch fragment, a medieval long-cross penny and a medieval bronze buckle and plate with an enamelled lion.

1st finder's map 3 no.4.
Early Saxon cruciform brooch fragment. Head plate with cast in one top and side knob. Old breaks. Plate is curved so perhaps burnt. Find held by NCM.
Long cross penny London? Mint.
2nd finder's map 3 no.1.
Bronze buckle and plate. Cast relief foliage on frame. Lion on plate. Enamelled? ground. Stamped border. 13th century, two bronze rivets.
