Summary

Metal detecting in the parish has recovered prehistoric worked flints, a Roman seal box, a Middle Saxon pin and several medieval metal objects including a 15th century dagger chape. Iron Age, Roman, Early Saxon and post medieval pottery has also been found.

Middle Saxon biconical headed copper alloy pin with most of shank missing.
Middle Saxon biconical headed copper alloy pin with facetted head of rectangular section. Ring and dot decoration. Most of shaft missing.
Copper alloy buckle with elaborately moulded frame and cast relief ornament on plate. 13th century.
Dagger chape copper alloy like (S1) but unperforated and back plate missing, like (S2). 15th century.
D shaped buckle gilt? Copper alloy, moulded tongue rest and frame. Narrow bar for tongue attachment.
Rocker arm ornament. Tongue of folded strip. 15th century.
Part rectangular part D shaped object of circular section. D area crossed by buckle tongue like element broken at one end. Five dome head rivet studs rivetted through. medieval? belt fitting.
Double looped buckle with moulded rosettes on tongue rests. 16th century.
