Summary

Metal detecting in earth removed from the western half of Kirby Cane bypass recovered a wide variety of finds dating from the prehistoric to the post medieval period. These included prehistoric flint flakes, Roman and medieval pottery, a Roman coin, a Late Saxon hooked tag and medieval metal objects and coins. The coins include a cut farthing of William I (William the Conqueror).
