Summary

Fieldwalking in 1981 recovered medieval, medieval/post-medieval and post-medieval pottery sherds along with bits of modern glass and tile. Metal-detecting between 2003 and 2015 recovered an undated quern stone fragment; a medieval/post-medieval pottery sherd; Roman, medieval and post-medieval coins; post-medieval tokens and a range of other, Early Bronze Age to post-medieval metal objects. These metal finds include a Early Bronze Age copper alloy flat axehead fragment, a Late Bronze Age spearhead fragment; a Roman brooch, military harness pendant, copper alloy furniture stud and copper alloy furniture stud or nail; medieval to post-medieval dress accessories (including a post-medieval silver strap fitting or dress mount); a medieval/post-medieval copper alloy vessel fragment and post-medieval belt or harness mounts, a harness mount, furniture fitting and spur.
