March 2022. Aylsham and Brampton Aerial Investigation and Mapping (AIM) Project.
The cropmarks of possible medieval to post medieval field systems and enclosures (see above) can be seen on aerial photographs(S1-S3). The field systems may relate to at least two phases. Although the features most likely date to the medieval to post medieval period, it’s possible that some of the features may be Iron Age to Roman in date. Cropmarks of post medieval boundaries which are recorded in good detail on the readily available historic maps (for example S4), have not been mapped as part of this project.
