Map

This is depicted on a map of 1725 as the site of the manor house of Scales Hooe (or Howe). The estate has a long history, first being mentioned in 1259, and while we cannot assume that the manor retained its original location into the 18th century, it is possible that this is also the site of earlier manors belonging to that estate.
