Full Description
Before July 1989. Fieldwalking and metal detecting; eighteen visits and a total of forty seven hours searching.
Rear-hook brooch, mid to late 1st century (identified by D. Gurney, NAU).
Roman coin, dupondius of Trajan, AVGVST SC 98-117 (identified by D. Gurney, NAU).
Half groat, Edward III or later, London mint.
Edward IV penny, 1461-70, quatrefoils by neck, initial mark a crown.
Penny of John?, moneyer Willelm, London mint.
Medieval silver ring brooch.
Medieval bronze ring brooch with sheet frame.
Medieval gilt buckle of bronze, the plate having cast relief decoration of running bird-like or mythological creature. Medieval? Belt mount with spikes on reverse for attachment.
Seven fragments of medieval peg roofing tile.
Medieval metalwork and coins identified by S. Margeson (NCM).
Two sherds glazed red earthenware and one post medieval stoneware.
Pottery identified by A. Rogerson (NAU).
