Summary

Fieldwalking in this area during 1989, as part of the Illington Survey, recovered several prehistoric flints along with sherds of Roman, medieval and post medieval pottery. A watching brief carried out at this site in 2000 noted a large post medieval or modern quarry pit.

April 2000. Watching Brief.
Monitoring of groundworks associated with construction of reservoir (Context 2 - Illington Survey by A. Davison, now Context 1 over whole field).
A large irregular quarry pit approximately 20 x 30m was observed at the northwest extent of the site. This feature is believed to have been post-medieval or modern in date.
No other features or finds.
