Full Description
February 1989. Fieldwalking and metal detecting.
Five prehistoric flint flakes.
Iron Age? small flint-gritted sherd.
Very worn Ipswich Ware sherd.
One Early Saxon bodysherd with linear decoration and one base sherd.
Medieval sherds including late medieval/early post medieval and lead-glazed earthenware sherd.
17th-18th century clay pipe fragments. Very worn or corroded
Roman coin, 3rd or 4th century.

The finder, [4], notes that there is an above average amount of clay tobacco pipe stem fragments in the ploughsoil of this field. None of the clay tobacco pipe stem was retained.
