Full Description
Map of 1733 at Wolterton Hall shows houses arranged around a green immediately north of the church, according to informant. This shows that village was here rather than on the site of the hall. Mentioned in Domesday and Nomina Villarum; ten taxpayers in 1329, 17 in 1332, 37 in 1377; field still open in 1638; park made 1725 (Information from Ordance Survey).
