Full Description
A limekiln and an associated pit are marked here on the 1st Edition O. S map, within what was formerly a wooded area known as Earlham Grove. See NHER 17257 for details of finds rexcovered in this area. This site is listed in the Kelly's Directory of 1896 (S1).

Subsidence in road revealed cavities stated to be old chalk workings; possibly associated with limekiln.
