Protected Status/Designation

  • None recorded

Location

Map sheet TL99SW
Civil Parish HOCKHAM, BRECKLAND, NORFOLK

Map

1990. Fieldwalking.
Found on surface of cleared plantation:
Two cores (one two-platform Mesolithic type)
One composite burin/scraper
One scraper
Eight flakes (one with irregular, invasive retouch)
Six blades (including two broken).
Given the nature of the finds from the surrounding sites it is quite possible that at least some of these flints are of Mesolithic date. These finds are now held by the NCM.
J.J. Wymer (NAU), 30 March 1990. Minor amendments by P. Watkins (HES), 22 April 2013.
