Full Description
November 1990. Field Observation.
Timber framed house of great interest. All details suggest 17th century date yet retains screen passage plan. Stair turret of high quality. Is this an unusual case or is an earlier building fossilized inside?
Major alterations around 1800.
Two barns, one 17th century, one of 1800.
See unpublished report (S1) and photograph (S2) for further details.
E. Rose (NLA), 22 November 1990.
January 1988. Field Observation.
Further investigation during restoration works confirmed that this building is all of one basic period, mid 17th century, despite the plan. However the framing of the stack is unusual.
See further unpublished report (S3) and photographs (S4) for further details.
E. Rose (NLA), 21 January 1998.
