Summary

In 1990 a Roman lozenge-shaped plate brooch was recovered from this area, along with an Early Saxon small-long brooch of uncertain form.

Lozenge-shaped plate brooch, slightly convex plate; hinge pin missing. Inner circle ?red; outer circle divided by triangular cells (orange) and circles (empty) in ?red field. 2nd century.
Early Saxon small-long brooch of uncertain form; battered headplate; foot missing below catch-plate; single lug on reverse; remains of iron spring, flattened bow.
