Summary

Arminghall Arch is now situated on this site. It is the most notable remant of Arminghall Hall (NHER 6098), a moated timber-framed mansion of 1600 situated in Bixley, that is largely demolished. The arch itself is an elaborately carved 14th century stone doorway that came originally from the Carmelite Friary in Norwich. The arch was eventually purchased by Norwich Castle Museum, and can now be seen in Norwich Magistrates' building.
