Summary

A 17th to 19th century three storey timber framed block, now a shop, with yellow mathematical tile cladding. A central carriage arch is flanked by 20th century shop fronts. A 17th century range to the rear of number 28 has leaded windows with pale green glass. The range to the rear of number 30 is late 28th century. Below number 30 lies an interconnected system of probably 15th century barrel-vaulted undercrofts, one of the most extensive in Norwich.

"Former use not known, now shops.
15th century undercroft, 17th, 18th and early 19th century façade. Timber frame with yellow mathematical tile cladding; pantiled roof. Three storeys; six first floor windows.
Flattened carriage arch in centre is flanked by 20th century shop-fronts with glazing bars. First floor jetty."

Divided into two shops.
Probable 15th century undercroft beneath eastern shop.

30b Elm Hill comprises one of a group of properties including flats andshops that occupy a district terrace fronting Elm Hill in Norwich. This part of the building is thought to be of late 18th century date but it has undergone a number of modifications. In July 2009 a fire broke out at the attic level of the rear range which caused damage to this room and parts of the roof.
