Summary

Nos 37 and 39 are a pair of three storey houses, stuccoed and appearing to date to around 1820. The buildings themselves actually began life in the early 17th century, and were later heightened from two to three storeys, when the building was also extended along the street line. The walls of the main block are constructed in flint rubble, and those of the extensions in brick. The plan reflects the buildings recent history: it was divided into two separate properties in the 19th century and returned to one in 1987. Inside, the first floor timbers of No 37 date to the first half of 17th century.
