Full Description
No 17 Fye Bridge Street.
Probably a 17th century single-cell block, although this is suggested by its size alone as subsequent alterations and additions have destroyed or covered any datable evidence. The remains of one truss suggests that when the building was erected it was one and a half storeys high. This is a two storeyed, single-cell building ranged along the street with a gable end stack, and stack-side stairs positioned away from the street. It is constructed with a timber framed first floor wall; a flint rubble ground floor wall and a full height flint rubble rear wall. The present entry is from a passage through to the rear yead, although the passage probably represents the original position of the doors. There are two casement windows at first floor level and one has the date 1660 in the pediment.
