Summary

Nos 7 and 9 form a large commercial building that occupies a corner site. Although the majority of the building dates to the 19th century, inside there is a 16th century battened ceiling at the first floor level. This three storey building is rendered with a pantile roof, and the rear wall is constructed of flint rubble and faced with knapped flints.

Full Description

No 7 and 9 Fyebridge Street.

A large commercial building that occupies a corner site and dates from the 19th century. There is a 16th century battened ceiling at first floor level, and the rear wall of Fishergate range is constructed with flint rubble and faced with knapped flints up to first floor ceiling height. This wall contains blocked frieze window openings and a blocked doorway with moulded timber jambs.

Listing Description Excerpt:
"Nos 7 and 9 Fyebridge Street.
Former factory, now shop. 19th century with 16th century remains. Rendered. Pantile roof. Three storeys. Three bays, plus corner bay. 20th century arcaded shopfront. Sash windows in recessed panels between paired pilasters. Rectangular aprons at 2nd floor. Box cornice and rectangular pediment over corner."
