Summary

This early 16th century building is timber framed at first floor level. A third storey was added in the 18th century. The corner block may be part of longer building that extended along Lobster Lane which was demolished and replaced by 17th century buildings.

Listing Description Excerpt:
"Public house. Late 17th century with 18/19th century heightening and extension along Lobster Lane. Rendered. Pantile roofs. Corner site. Three storeys, jettied at first floor. Single storey extension. Two widely spaced second floor windows on St. John Maddermarket elevation."
