Summary

In 1974 a Mesolithic flint tranchet adze was found in a pipe trench at this location. This object was originally recorded as a Neolithic pick.

Found in pipe trench:
1 prehistoric chipped flint axe/pick. Donated to Norwich Castle Museum (NWHCM : 1974.399).

Although initially recorded as Neolithic this object was subsequently examined by R. Jacobi and re-identified as a Mesolithic core adze, with tranchet sharpening scars both sides.
