Summary

Metal detecting in this area during 1989 recovered seven medieval coins from a cliff fall. One was identified as a gold quarter noble of Edward III.

Medieval gold quarter noble, 4th series treaty 1363 to 1369, Edward III.
Within 45m (50yds) of this were Edward I? penny, London mint; Edward I? penny; Edward I, II or III penny, London mint; Edward III half groat, York mint; Edward IV penny, York mint, quatrefoil in centre of reverse, C and key on each side of base. Archbishop George Neville, 1464/5 to 1470.
