January 1991. Metal detecing find.
Oval copper alloy seal matrix, pierced lug on top reverse, with longitudinal rib below.
Motif: man's head above two flowers with a curled up lion below.
Legend: EXVLTATE DEO FLOS CAPUT ATQ' LEO (Praise God flower,head and also lion) (ATQ'= ATQUE)
The motif is known on other seal matrices (cf one from Hindringham (Found by [1]) with very similar motif and legend (though abbreviated at end).
