Summary

A Second World War Type 22 pillbox survives as an extant structure. It has been visited on the ground, is depicted on modern Ordnance Survey maps, and is visible on aerial photographs. It was situated next to a railway line (since removed), and made unusually tall so that it could see over it.

The Second World War Type 22 pillbox described above is visible as an extant structure on aerial photographs, including S2. Rather than mapping it from an aerial source, its outline has been traced from the modern Ordnance Survey Mastermap mapping (S3) on which it is depicted.
