Full Description
26 March 1992.
Human burial discovered by soldiers digging a 'foxhole' in north face of pit.
Depth 76cm (2 feet 6 inches), head to west. Many bones recovered.
27 March 1992. Site visit by A.Rogerson (NLA) with [1] of Swaffham Police.
Nothing visible because foxhole completed with metal sheet revetting completely covering sides.
Much surface evidence of former buildings (military) on ploughed surface to north.
Just west of findspot a substantial roughly circular gravel/sand pit not on Ordnance Survey map.
Burial clearly of antiquity.
