Summary

Cropmarks of an undated rectangular enclosure and linear features including a possible trackway can be seen on an aerial photograph and are now recorded under NHER 9753. Metal detecting has recovered finds dating from the Roman to the post medieval period. These include an Early Saxon copper alloy rod decorated with animal heads, part of a Late Saxon decorative object in 'Ringerike' style and a medieval casket key. Roman coins were also found.

Three Roman coins (see list in file). Identified by J. Davies (NCM).
Early Saxon copper alloy rod, of circular section. Moulded decoration on one face- profiles of animal heads. See (S1).
Late Saxon fragment of probable Ringerike style object. V-shaped around pierced hole. Decorative. See (S1).
Medieval copper alloy casket key, kidney-shaped bow.
16th century copper alloy book clasp.
Late medieval shield-shaped mount.
Late medieval triangular belt or harness mount.
Post medieval cloth seal. See (S1).
