Summary

An unusual example of an Early Saxon mount in the form of a stylised fish, with interlaced decoration, found by metal detecting in 2005. Metal detecting and fieldwalking on the site have also recovered a prehistoric flint flake, a Neolithic arrowhead, an Early Saxon buckle, a Late Saxon stirrup mount, and medieval coins.

1st half 1992. Field 50.
Probable triangular projectile point with hollow base, one 'barb' broken. Brown flint with grey patina (43x33x6mm) Neolithic.
1 part cortical flake with secondary working at distal end to give narrow scraper like nosed end.
