26 June 1992. Watching Brief.
Honingham/A47 Pipeline, dug by Anglian Water contractors, not visible on stripped surface.
Probable prehistoric pit seen in section of pipeline. 0.68m deep, 1.75m wide, filled with abundant charcoal flecks and small pieces in loose silt sand (90%/10%). Lenses of reddened burnt soil visible
