Summary

Fragments of medieval pottery were found by the side of an old road in 1968. Metal-detecting between 2015 and 2019 recovered Neolithic and Bronze Age worked flints; Iron Age to Roman and medieval to post-medieval pottery sherds; a lava quern fragment; Roman, Late Saxon, medieval and post-medieval coins; medieval tokens; medieval and post-medieval jettons and a range of other, undatable and Roman to post-medieval metal objects. These metal finds include undatable casting waste; a Roman votive model, horse figurine fragment, military harness fitting and furniture upholstery stud or nail; Early Saxon brooches; a Middle/Late Saxon copper alloy and silver hooked tags; Late Saxon strap ends, stirrup-strap mounts and a brooch; a Late Saxon/medieval strap end; medieval to post-medieval dress accessories; a medieval harness mount, brooch, harness pendant, chafing dish fragment, coin weight, and small padlock; medieval/post-medieval rotary keys, purse fragments, a copper alloy vessel fragment and unidentfied object and post-medieval fragments of rowel spurs, harness mounts, a locking key, finger ring, coin weight, hooked sword belt fitting, saddle pommel and lead cloth seal.

Middle/Late Saxon hooked tag.
1 Late Saxon coin, a brooch, strap end and stirrup-strap mount.
Late Saxon/medieval strap-end (S1).
14 medieval coins, 2 tokens, 1 jetton, 35 pottery sherds, buckles, a mount, harness mount, strap fitting, chafing dish fragment, key, coin weight and a small padlock.
1 medieval/post-medieval pottery sherd and a copper alloy vessel leg.
3 post-medieval coins, 1 jetton, 1 pottery sherd, buckles, fragments of rowel spurs, a cloth seal, harness mount, finger ring, coin weight, hooked sword belt fitting and a saddle pommel.
