Full Description
1992.
Enamel boss of unknown date. See (S1).
Illegible medieval penny 1327 to 1422.
Also four medieval coins and two post medieval. See list in file.
Medieval lead token or disc, cast relief six petalled rosette - uniface.
Early post medieval Elizabethan cloth seal, two disc. Obverse: portcullis with crown above. Reverse: might have had the cloth weight on.
2nd half 17th century lead cloth seal, two disc - 'EDREF ORME' (from WORSTEAD REFORMED).
Nuremburg jetton - rose/orb type - 16th/17th century.
W. Milligan (NCM), 4 December 1992.
Grid reference corrected from original TF9950 8564 by W. Milligan (NCM).
1993. Metal-detecting.
1 medieval lead pilgrim's ampulla. Very squashed. Crown on one face/shield on other - Walsingham.
1 post-medieval coin (Elizabeth I sixpence, 1558 to 1603).
The ampulla is probably the same object as one that was seen and drawn by the Moyses Hall Museum the same year (S2). Although NHER 34487 has been suggested as a possible source for the object seen at Moyses Hall there is no particular reason for this to be the case and it matches the description of the ampulla recorded as being from this site.
W. Milligan (NCM), 20 May 1993. Amended by P. Watkins (HES), 30 August 2016.
