Summary

Fieldwalking in 1992 recovered fragments of Roman pottery, glass, querns and tiles from the area of a rectangular enclosure visible on earlier aerial photographs. This may indicate the former presence of a Roman building. Prehistoric burnt flints and medieval pottery fragments were also found.

Map

9 July 1973. Ordnance Survey air photography.
Subrectangular enclosure.
These features may just be enclosure field boundaries but they had gone by 1946. The alignment of these features is at odds with the modern layout, so I think it possible that they may be pre-enclosure.
