Summary

A Neolithic flaked flint axehead was found by chance at this location in 1962. Subsequent metal-detecting between 2019 and 2023 recovered Late Iron Age (Roman issue), Roman, Late Saxon, medieval and post-medieval coins; medieval jettons and a range of other, undated and Roman to post-medieval metal objects. These metal finds include an undated ring and copper alloy possible ingot or casting waste; a Roman silver finger ring; a Roman to post-medieval lead weight; a Late Saxon strap end; a Late Saxon/medieval lead spindle whorl; medieval to post-medieval dress accessories; a medieval casket key, lead ampullas and lead pot mend; a medieval/post-medieval copper alloy vessel fragment and a post-medieval thimble and lead cloth seals.

1 post-medieval coin, a thimble and 2 lead cloth seals.

The Roman silver finger ring was disclaimed as Treasure (Ref: 2023 T894) and returned to the finder.
